CLEANING & MAINTENANCE
AFTER IRONING
Disconnect power supply and empty the water left in water tank. Reconnect
the power supply and disconnect after indicator light goes off, this dries the
sole plate.
Let the iron completely cool down, then wipe flakes and any other deposits on
the sole plate with a damp cloth or a non-abrasive (liquid) cleaner. Clean the
upper part of iron with a damp cloth. Always store the emptied iron horizontally
on a stable surface with a cloth protecting the sole plate.
SELF CLEANING
The iron has a self clean function. This is useful from time to time to clean out
the internal steam ways etc. To use the self clean function, heat up to max
and hold the iron away from any fabric etc. Push the steam switch to the SELF
CLEAN position for up to 10 seconds.
DE-SCALING
It will be necessary to de-scale the iron regularly. The frequency of de-scaling
will depend on where you live. This is easy to do using a lemon juice solution.
One part lemon juice to ten parts water.
Fill the iron with the solution, switch on and allow to come to temperature.
Press and hold the self clean button until most of the solution has worked
through the iron. Empty remaining solution from tank then repeat the above
procedure with clean water.
There are also many proprietary de-scaling products available from
supermarkets.
If you live in a particularly hard water area, using bottled or distilled water will
greatly reduce the need for de-scaling and increase the life of your iron.
Your warranty does not cover damage caused by excessive
lime scale build up
