    External Interfaces • The ST series’ serial interface is not isolated (except for COM2 on the AST3211-A1- D24). When the host (PLC) unit is also not isolated, and to reduce the risk of damag- ing the RS232C/RS422/RS485 circuit, be sure to connect pin #5 SG (Signal Ground) terminal.
