    Getting Started Attach the Camera Strap 1. Please make sure the lens cap and the lens strap are securely attached. 2. Attach the lens cap to the camera strap as shown in the illustration. 3.     Recording Videos You can record videos with the camera, the available recording time depends on the capacity of the memory card. Videos can be recorded until the maximum memory capacity has been reached. However the length of a single video may be limited (the limitation depends on the camera model).

    Mode dial There are 8 recording modes that can be set by turning the Mode dial - Intelligent Scene, Scene mode, Panorama, Art Effect, Manual Exposure, Aperture Priority, Shutter Priority and Program. Once turning the Mode dial, it will enter the selected mode immediately even in Playback mode or during movie recording.
  • Page 34 Using Intelligent Scene This feature is most useful for novice users to capture great images even without basic knowledge of photography. Simply frame the shot with the help of Intelligent Scene Mode, the camera automatically recognizes 7 kinds of scenes - Portrait, Landscape, Macro, Backlight, Backlight Portrait, Night Scene and Night Portrait - and selects the ideal settings.

  • Page 38 Using Food Mode Enjoy sharing your dining experiences on social media? Just put your camera into food mode where macro focus and auto flash will help you take the best, close-up food photography. Macro focus and Auto Flash are enabled by using Food mode.
  • Page 39 Using Background Defocus Use this feature to take pictures with a blurred background. This effect will not show on preview screen when taking pictures. You will only see the results once the photo has been taken in Auto Review or Playback Navigation. If the brightness of the shooting environment is wrong or the background cannot be recognized, an error message will be shown while half pressing the Shutter button.
  • Page 40 Using Self Portrait Use this mode when taking a self portrait, where the camera will begin facial tracking. If a face is recognized, the camera performs a 2 second countdown with a beep notice. The camera will then take a photo automatically. Tips to make a great shape by self portrait photography: Lean in towards the camera to reduce double chin.
  • Page 41 Using GIF Capture Use this feature to take a specific number of images in a specific shooting interval. The taken images will be combined into a GIF file and no longer exist individually. Press the OK button in Preview to launch the GIF Setting.

Press and hold the Endless Burst shutter button to take continuous photos, shooting up to (Standard) 50 photos at a time or until the memory card is full.     Using the Record Menu If you are in Photo Mode, you can access the Record menu simply by pressing the MENU button on your camera. When the menu is displayed, use the 4-way navigation control and the OK button to move through menu selections and apply your desired settings. To close the menu anytime, press the menu button again.

  • Page 49 White Balance This sets the white balance for a variety of lighting conditions and permits images to be captured that approach the conditions that are seen by the human eye. • As you move through the selection, you can see the preview on the LCD monitor synchronously.

Bracketing records 3 continuous images in the following order: Standard exposure, Overexposure and Underexposure. Available settings are: Off, ±0.3, ±0.7 and ±1.0.
