Chapter 5
Using the Program Guides
3. Highlight the setting to edit for this guide then press SEL. The following
options are available:
Name lets you change the name of the current guide. Use the
number keys on the remote to enter letters and numbers. You could,
for example, rename the guide "Mom's Guide" by holding down the
ENTER key to delete the existing name, pressing INPUT to shift
to capital letters, then pressing 6 for "M", INPUT for lower-case, 6
three times for "o", 6 once for "m", and so on.
Note: You can access symbols and special characters, such as an apostrophe, by
pressing the 1 key repeatedly.
Select channels lets you set the channels you want to include or
exclude from this guide. Highlight Select channels and press SEL. The
Select channels screen appears. Highlight the channels you want to
add or delete and press SEL to include/exclude it from the guide. For
"Mom's Guide", for example, select the channels that Mom typically
likes to watch. Press the Options soft key to check or uncheck all of
the channels.
NOTE: This option is not available for listing searches, such as HDTV search,
Sport search, or Family search.
Channel order lets you reorder the channels in the guide. Highlight
Channel order then press SEL. Highlight the channel you want to
move in the Order channels menu, and press the Move soft key to
select that channel. Then use the up and down arrows to move the
channel in the list and press the Ok soft key when you've put the
channel where you want it to go. For example, if Mom watches a
particular channel most often, you may want to move that channel
to the top of the list so it is easily accessible for her.
NOTE: This option is not available for listing searches, such as HDTV search,
Sport search, or Family search.
Display lets you select what information appears next to the channels
in the guide. You can select Channel logo, Channel number, or
Channel letters to be displayed next to the channel. For example, if
"Mom" identifies with a channel by its logo more than the actual
channel number, you would select Channel logo.
Guide display lets you select how the programs are listed in this
guide. You can select the programs to appear by channel or by time
slot. For example, if Mom prefers to see all of the programs for a
specific channel at once, you would select the guide to display by
channel. If Mom prefers to see all programs on all channels during a
specific time slot, you would select the guide to display by time.
NOTE: This option is not available for listing searches, such as HDTV search,
Sport search, or Family search.
4. When you have finished editing this guide, press the Back soft key. The
Guide screen appears.
