Now it's time for you to make sure you've got the input you want for this
activity. Each time you press SEL, the remote sends the right key presses to
change inputs. Press just once and wait for the Smart Remote to beep (or for
your device to react). This may take a few seconds per press.
TIP: Make sure there's something playing on the device you're trying to
watch or listen to. For example, if you're setting up a "Watch DVD" activity,
make sure your DVD player is on with a disc playing, and that your TV
(and audio receiver you use it for DVD audio) is on and set to the correct
input to watch the DVD player.
The Smart Remote tells you when it's switching inputs on your device. It
also beeps when it's done sending the commands to switch inputs. Make
sure you wait for the remote to finish and your device to react before you
press SEL again.
The remote wants to count how many inputs you have on each device, so it
"bumps" you off the right input and watches how you get back to it.
