Display device specifies where you watch the video. In the satellite
receiver example, you probably watch the program on your TV, so
you'll choose TV here. Highlight Display device in the Edit activity
screen and press SEL to toggle between the display options available.
Audio device specifies where the audio is played. If you use an A/V
receiver for your home theater, for example, you'll probably choose
Audio receiver here. Highlight Audio device in the Edit activity screen
and press SEL to toggle between the audio options available.
Cabling configuration specifies how you have your A/V Source
connected to your display and audio devices.
Unknown is recommended if you're not sure how these devices are
connected.
Video < Source > Video means that your source is connected directly to
different display and audio devices.
Source > Audio > Video means that your source is connected directly to
your audio device, which routes the video signal to the display device.
Source > Video > Audio means that your source is connected directly to
your display device, which routes the audio signal to the audio device.
Steps lets you enter the different key presses for this activity. Highlight
this line in the Edit activity screen and press SEL to program the steps
in the activity. Read the instructions then press the Ok soft key to clear
them from the screen.
Then, begin entering the steps for your activity:
Use the DEVICES key and the right and left arrow keys to change
the active device as necessary.
Start pressing the keys in the order you would if you were actually
performing the activity. The key combinations appear on the
screen in the order you press them.
If the sequence includes a key that is not assigned to a hard key on
the Smart Remote, press the Options soft key, then highlight Insert
Command and press SEL.
NOTE: If you know that a particular device takes some time to
perform a command (like bring up a menu), you can insert a delay
in the ordered steps to ensure that the device is ready to accept the next
command the Smart Remote is configured to perform. To insert a delay,
press the Options soft key, then highlight Insert delay and press SEL.
Press the Done soft key once you've completed the steps in the
activity.
