ACCORD MAJOR / MINOR OWNERʼS MANUAL PRECAUTIONS Follow the instructions below carefully for safe and long life use. ●Wash your hand and rinse your mouth before playing the ACCORD. And also, check whether the pitch is not wrong by gently blowing into the ACCORD. If the pitch is noticeably lower than normal, do not use as the reed might be broken or damaged (See CAUTION FOR REEDS). ● Do not put the extraneous material in the mouthpiece or the gap. It causes the failure or the damage. ●Do not push down strongly the cover or chew it. It causes the failure or the damage. Also, if your lips or tongue gets into the deformed gap, it may be in danger of the unexpected injury. ●Do not throw or drop the ACCORD. It is dangerous because it may cause injury as well as damage. ●Do not leave the ACCORD in or near a heat source such as direct sunlight, hot car or stove. It may cause deformation and breakage. ●After playing, remove accumulated moisture by shaking lightly with the mouthpiece facing downwards. Wipe the instrument with a soft cloth or clean with a cloth dampened with Suzuki Sterilizing Cleaner (HAC-01) or an Ethanol for disinfection. Do not use chemicals or solvents that are not described in this manual as they may damage the instrument. After cleaning, store the instrument in the protective case supplied. CAUTION FOR REEDS ●The sound of the ACCORD is produced by a small reed located on a metal plate vibrating at a specific frequency. Depending on the frequency of use and the strength of the breath you breathe, the reed may drop the pitch, crack, or break due to metal fatigue. This is a phenomenon that can occur with all reed instruments. ●Do not play the instrument face up. If the reed is damaged, you may accidentally swallow or inhale a fragment of the broken reed. If this occurs, seek medical advice immediately. ●If the reed breaks, the pitch will drop significantly as a precursor. In that case, stop playing immediately. If you continue playing, the reed may get into your mouth or inhale. ●Just like the stringed instrument breaks the string due to exhaustion, the reed also goes out of pitch or breaks due to exhaustion. Depending on how you play and how often you use the reed, the state of wear of the reed will vary, but we recommend that you regularly ask for maintenance to ensure long and safe use. < PRODUCTS > Suzuki chord whistle “Accord” has major and minor.
