Additional features

LS21 and LS41 for BladeCenter system board containing eight DIMM connectors, supporting
512 MB, 1 GB, 2 GB, or 4 GB DIMMs:
– Up to 32 GB of system memory is supported with 4 GB DIMMs.
– The LS41 Multiprocessor Expansion (MPE) unit supports 8 additional DIMMs for up to 64
MB of total system memory.
– Memory is two-way interleaved.
– Memory sizes can be mixed (must be installed in matched pairs).
– The Chipkill function is supported for 1 GB, 2 GB, and 4 GB DIMMs.

SAS controller, supporting one internal SAS drive (36 or 73 GB) for LS21 and two-socket
LS41, up to two internal SAS drives for four-socket LS41, and up to three additional SAS
drives with an optional SIO blade.

Two full-duplex, dual Gigabit Ethernet PCI-X-based connections, high-speed network
communications to LAN clients.
•
Two additional full-duplex, dual Gigabit Ethernet PCI Express-based connections available on
LS41 with MPE.
LS21 and LS41 for BladeCenter blade servers are designed for high throughput from processor,
to memory, and to bus I/O.
