Electrical System

IMPORTANT: Refer to the Safety section of this manual for
detailed battery servicing safety information.
The electrical system is a 12 volt, negative ground. The
recommended battery size is:
Garden tractor BCI group U1R with a 225 or better
cranking AMP rating.
A maintenance-free battery is recommended. Otherwise,
follow battery manufacturer's maintenance, safety, storing
and charging specifications.
Master in-line fuse
These mowers have a master in-line fuse (40 amp) in the
electrical system. This is the main fuse to protect the
complete electrical system. It is located next to the starter
solenoid which is mounted on the left front of the engine.

Kohler EFI engine fuses
Mowers equipped with the Kohler EFI engines have three
(3) engine fuses. Refer to the Kohler engine owner's manual
for detailed information. Figure 4-2
Kawasaki EFI Engine Fuses
Mowers equipped with the Kawasaki EFI engines have
three (3) engine fuses. Refer to the Kawasaki engine owner's
manual for detailed information. Figure 4-3 and Figure 4-4

procedures.
