    Programming for a complete description of front panel functions. The V4300QS is available in two versions. Model V4300QS is the NTSC version; model V4300QS-P is the PAL version. The term V4300QS is used to refer to both models unless specifically stated otherwise.
  • Page 10 VCR Interface The V4300QS has a VCR interface. The VCR input BNC accepts the video signal from the VCR and connects to the video output connector of the VCR. It allows the recorded tape to be played back. The VCR output BNC outputs the video signal to the VCR.

    Installation Unpacking and Inspection All Vicon equipment is tested and inspected before leaving the factory. It is the carrier’s responsibility to deliver the equipment in the same condition as it left the factory. Inspection For Visible Damage Immediately inspect the cartons upon delivery. Make a note of any visible damage on all copies of the carrier’s freight bill.

    HIGH Z or HIGH IMPEDANCE. The last video device in the line must be terminated with 75 ohms. Note: If the V4300QS is not to be connected to a VCR, the output from the VCR OUT connector may be connected to a second monitor. This output displays the quad screen continuously.

    VIDEO OUT connector on the VCR to the VIDEO IN connector on the other monitor and terminate the line with 75 ohms. The VCR can be connected to the V4300QS to allow it to respond to alarm inputs to the V4300QS. These alarm connections are discussed in the following section, Alarm Connections.

  • Page 17: Programming

    Programming Programming the V4300QS includes writing titles for the video inputs, assigning dwell times for sequencing operation, setting time and date, turning the buzzer and border on or off, and selecting the frame or field reset mode. All programming is done with the front panel keys. Each key has two functions, one when it is simply depressed and one when it is depressed in conjunction with SHIFT in the operation mode or used in programming.

    CAUTION: Careful selection of the proper cable is essential to obtain the best performance from this equipment. Vicon assumes no responsibility for poor performance when cables other than those recommended are installed. In all cases, coaxial cable impedance should be 75 ohms.
