    Preface About this Document This guide provides network setup and installation instructions for the Model VI-DSP-2 MangoDSP Raven™ Single-Channel Video Analytics Encoder (encoder). Conventions Used in this Document Convention Example Names of buttons, windows and tabs Press the Next button.
  • Page 6: Chapter 1. Network Setup

    ETWORK ETUP Overview The encoder is used to capture analog camera outputs and provide IP encoded analytic data to the ViconNet Video Intelligence Video Analytics Server (VN-VI- SERVER). One encoder is required for each analog camera output. In order to communicate with the encoder(s), each must be set up with a unique IP address on your network.
  • Page 7 Model VI-DSP-2 Encoder Network Setup 198.168.0.62. In order to communicate with the encoder, your workstation has to be on the same network IP (198.160.0.XXX) as the encoder. If it is not, perform the following: 1. Disconnect your workstation from the network and connect its network interface with the Ethernet (ETH) connector on the rear panel of the encoder, using a crossed LAN cable or an Ethernet switch.

You will need to reenter the settings when the procedure is complete. 7. Change the IP address to: 192.168.0.1, and the Subnet mask to: 255.255.255.0.

    A browser window will display. NOTE If you received a firmware update from Vicon and wish to upgrade your firmware version, click Write DSP Flash. Browse for the updated .bin file and click Write Flash to update.

    Model VI-DSP-2 Encoder Network Setup 3. Enter Hostname, and select Fixed: Assign the following IP address configuration to the hardware. Enter the values in each field. Provide a unique IP address for the encoder. Click Save. NOTE Each encoder is preset with a unique MAC address that cannot be modified by the user.

    Model VI-DSP-2 Encoder Installing the Encoder Installation Mount the encoder in a level, clean and dry indoor location on a shelf on in a rack. The room or area temperature is climate controlled for human occupancy Connect power supply, network cable, video cables and ground as follows. A typical network installation is shown in the following figure.
