    Optional Components Your system may come equipped with one or more pre-installed options, including: • 1010-00017 – Power Strip: 4 outlet power strip for 120v accessories . • 1010-00021 – Single HDMI audio extractor: Extracts audio signals from any HDMI compliant source to digital optical or analog stereo L/R audio outputs for higher quality of sound and better control .

    Configuring Settings Your ezRoom ELEVATE system has many settings that can be customized for your school and your classrooms . Configure the ClassLight, Mics, Audio Levels, and set up control of other devices . Access the CM900 Connect to the CM900 directly with an Ethernet cable from your computer to the Ethernet switch in the ezRoom, or connect over the school network .

    Load/Save The configuration parameters created in this interface can be saved in a file for use with other CM900s . In this section you would “save” a configuration file or “load” a file on your computer . Some of the parameters might still need to be changed (e .g ., the IP address) .

    PA / Intercom These settings are for use when installed with the Conductor IP-based Paging, Intercom and Bell system or with a 25V, 70V, or 100V analog paging system . The gain setting for the pendant microphone when used as an additional intercom microphone is set through Ch1 line input gain .

    Audio These settings affect the local audio in the room (microphones and auxiliary sources) and other device settings Volume: Adjusts the initial master volume of the amplified audio played out the “PA Out” speaker connection (which includes all the audio inputs, e .g . microphones and auxiliary sources) . Note that this setting is not intended for standard use in changing the current volume .

    Mic Settings Microphone Start Volume: These are the levels for the microphones when a microphone is first registered . OptiVoice: A useful tool for test-taking and ELL instruction . Fragile consonant sounds carry 75% of the meaning in speech but are easily destroyed by background noise .
  • Page 19 If there are multiple classrooms with glass walls facing each other, the PrivaSee signals may start to interfere and microphones may mute unexpectedly . In this case you should turn the PrivaSee feature off . See the Microphone section for information on how to do this .

    Mic Info A listing of registered microphones with the corresponding Type and Volume are shown in this screen . You can register up to 8 microphones to a Base Station . Up to 4 microphones may be connected (able to speak) at one time (at least one of the micro- phones must be an Action! Teacher Mic) .

    Mic Buttons Action! Mic buttons are customizable by assigning Events to the buttons . See the Action and Events Creator to build Events before you try to program the buttons . By default the mic is programmed for the Up and Down buttons to control Audio 1 level on the CM900 (all microphones from the Base Station), and the Circle button performs the Solo action .

    Shortcuts Shortcuts are name substitutions . Defining Shortcuts makes deployment of multiple FrontRow devices of the same type easier . Use Shortcuts in defining actions that represent the IP addresses of the devices you want to control . This means that your con- figuration file can be written as a template with IP addresses explicitly defined in only one place (the Shortcut), needing to be changed only once rather than repeatedly throughout your Actions .

    Event Creator With your collection of discrete Actions defined, you can now specify what Events will cause one or more of those Actions to be executed . Events can be triggered in a variety of ways, Encore and Teacher Edition software, FrontRow Control panels, a FrontRow push button (CB75 microphone or CB50), an Action! Mic, or from a non-FrontRow GPI trigger .

    Using the Microphones Microphone Registration A Microphone must be registered with a base station to be operational . To register a mic, you must put both the Base Station and the Mic into registration mode . The following notice is included with ELEVATE ezRooms so that installers do this first thing . However, there may be other times when you need to register a mic with a room .

    PrivaSee PrivaSee allows teachers to leave the room without worrying about the mic transmitting their conversations or bathroom breaks to the class . Like other DECT-based systems, the ELEVATE system uses RF signals to transmit from the mic to the Base Station . RF signals go through walls and can be picked up from an area much larger than the room .

    Turning the Mics Off The Action! and Bravo! Mics will fall asleep to save battery when placed on a flat surface after about 10 minutes, but will wake up with picked up . During the school year there should be no need to actually turn the mics off . If you need to truly turn off the mics, for example, for travel or summer storage, do the following: For the Action!
