Step-by-step plan of checking of VHF radio station with DSC

Step 1: connect Tester and Power sensor SWR meter according to fig.9.1 or fig.9.2.
Step 2: select measurement mode: Test VHF > Receive DSC; Att: 00 dB.
Step 3: send test DSC message from radio station under test (DUT).
Step 4: check correctness of received DSC message and measured parameters; save
results in offered memory slot (for example profile No. 5) by pressing F2 key.
Step 5: select measurement mode: Test VHF > VHF Receiver FM; select channel
CH-06 and start measurement by pressing Enter .
Step 6: select channel CH-06 and press PTT (push to talk) on device under test;
You will see measured of frequency, power level and frequency deviation on
Tester's screen. With PTT (push to talk) pressed save measured results by pressing
Esc .
Step 7: save measurement results on channel 6, by pressing Enter ; on screen you
will see menu with profile number to save results – 6 (next empty profile ), but for
saving all measurement results of one radio station it is recommended to select the
same profile number used for saving DSC measurement before (in our example it's
No. 5).
Repeat randomly Steps 5 -7 for channels 09, 13, 16. Consequently, all
measurement results of one radio station on channels 06, 09, 13 and 16 will be
saved in profile No.5. This will allow you to make and print Test Report.
Note. Testing of radio stations with DSC on channels 70 (DSC), 06, 09, 13, 16 is
regulated by requirements of International Maritime Registry (IMO).
