In case of poor or loss of connection a repeater must be placed.

    3 Before Use Before Use Before and after each use, check the proper fit of antenna connection. Tighten it if necessary to ensure proper operation (→ 3.1 Antenna Installation).     Failure to follow this warning can result in serious personal injury or death. To remove battery, reverse the above installation procedure. Battery Charging Use the M1 Control Module charging adapter set, the SCBA truck charger or the Multi-Bay charger (→ 11 Ordering Information).

  • Page 12 3 Before Use Charging the M1 Battery Pack within the device using the M1 Control Module charging clip (green) (1) Connect the charging clip on the back of the battery pack. Make sure the charging clip is aligned correctly and the contacts are free of dirt.

    4 Use WARNING! Before and after each use, inspect the device to determine if servicing is required. If the device is damaged or is subjected to impact forces, e.g. a fall, it must be immediately removed from service. Do not use if the device does not power on successfully or if device is bent, cracked, modified, or otherwise compromised.

    To access the service mode press the power button longer than 5 sec. Power button LED is green and connection state LEDs are red (→ 2.4 LED Status). For further information see the A2 Software Operating Manual on the MSA Software Product website at www.MSAsafety.com.

    MSA, could cause the unit to fail to perform properly. Do not attempt to repair the device. Repair of the device must be performed by a person authorized by MSA. Failure to follow this warning can result in serious personal injury or death.

    7 Storage Storage • Do not store the device within or near an area where the device might be exposed to any substances and/or ambient conditions that might attack any part of the device, causing the device to not perform as designed and approved.
