The energy input for the different ambient is important.
25 degrees - 2 x 90WP solar panels. (In the southern hemisphere the solar panels must face north).
30 degrees - 2 x 100WP solar panels. (Applicable for Africa only, recommendations for the rest of the world on
request).
35 degrees - 2 x 120WP solar panels.
For sustainability two AGM batteries per system or three high cycle solar batteries are recommended in order that
the fridge/freezer can operate on a 12vdc and 24vdc energy system.
180WP = 6.1kWhr/m² = 27° North @ Ambient Temperature of 25°C.
Installation diagram
2 x 120 W
1. Connect Solar Panel A and Solar Panel B in parallel to each other (positive to positive, and negative to negative).
2. Connect battery A to battery B in parallel to each other (positive to positive, and negative to negative).
3. Connect the positive (red) cable of the solar panel to the positive input of the solar charge controller.
4. Connect the negative (black) cable of the solar panel to the negative input of the solar charge controller.
5. Connect the positive (red) cable of the batteries to the positive input of the solar charge controller.
6. Connect the negative (black) cable of the batteries to the negative input of the solar charge controller.
7. Connect the refrigerator to the solar charge controller.
Important notes:
1. Solar panels should face 27 degrees North for best efficiency.
2. The batteries should be kept indoors.
3. The mains cable of the refrigerator should not be extended.
4. Should you require more solar panels, it can be added by connecting them in parallel with the existing solar panels.
5. The refrigerator cannot be connected to 230V AC.
200WP = 6.1kWhr/m² = 27° North @ Ambient Temperature of 30°C
240WP = 6.1kWhr/m² = 27° North @ Ambient Temperature of 35°C
