2.10 Improperly Placed Original

If improperly placed, an original may jam or may tear. To prevent such a problem, the ma-
chine checks originals for proper placement. The microprocessor on the DADF controller
PCB is programmed to make a check at specific timing, and improper placement is identi-
fied in reference to the presence of an original over a specific sensor.
When an original is found to be improperly placed, the machine will communicate the
fact to its host copier, which indicates it in its service mode.
