CHAPTER 2 OPERATIONS AND TIMING
The paper retaining plate is always moved down when picking up the first
original. The paper retaining plate is moved down when picking up the
second and subsequent originals only when pickup is prevented (e.g., the
pickup roller may have slipped) and, thus, the pickup sensor (S7) fails to
detect an original within 400 msec after the pickup motor has turned on.
This consideration is made to ensure good feeding performance.
2) Arching
The original is butted against the registration roller, and is made to arch.
3) Feeding
The feed belt, registration roller, and feed roller are rotated to move the original to the
copyboard glass.
