General safety instructions

Please carefully read the following instructions all the way
through. Failure to comply with the instructions can affect your
own safety and the safety of the appliance.
Warning!
– Keep the following objects out of the reach of child-
ren: packaging materials, small parts.
– All persons using the appliance must be familiar with
its operation in advance, and they must be instructed
in the possible hazards associated with the appli-
ance.
– Never allow children to use the appliance or to play
near the appliance unsupervised.
– The appliance can be used by children above 8
years of age and by people with limited physi-
cal, sensory or mental abilities or lacking expe-
rience and knowledge if they are supervised or
were instructed on the safe use of the appliance
and understand the resulting dangers. Child-
ren are not allowed to play with the appliance.
Cleaning and maintenance by the user may not be
performed by children and people with limited physi-
cal, sensory or mental abilities or lacking experience
and knowledge if they are not supervised.
– Only use the appliance if it is in faultless condition.
– Never attempt to repair the appliance yourself. If
repairs are necessary, contact the Melitta
Hotline only.
– Comply with the safety instructions on the next page.
