product. Refer to the individual instructions packaged with the kits

or accessories when installing.

Recognize safety information. This is the safety- -alert symbol
When you see this symbol on the furnace and in instructions or

manuals, be alert to the potential for personal injury.

Understand the signal words DANGER, WARNING, and
CAUTION. These words are used with the safety- -alert symbol.

DANGER identifies the most serious hazards which will result in

severe personal injury or death. WARNING signifies a hazard
which could result in personal injury or death. CAUTION is used

to identify unsafe practices which may result in minor personal
10
injury or product and property damage. NOTE is used to highlight
suggestions which will result in enhanced installation, reliability, or
10
operation.

What to do if you smell gas:
1. DO NOT try to light any appliance.

2. DO NOT touch any electrical switch or use any

phone in your building.

3. Leave the building immediately.
3. IMMEDIATELY call your gas supplier from a

neighbor's phone. Follow the gas supplier's
11
instructions.
4. If you cannot reach your gas supplier, call the fire
department.

qualified installer, service agency or the gas supplier.

    Step 10 — Set room thermostat selector slightly above room temperature and set system switch to HEAT position to start the unit. The induced- -draft combustion air fan will start. Main burners light within 30 seconds. Indoor blower will start within 60 to 90 seconds of main gas ignition.

Do not turn off the electrical power to unit without first turning off the gas supply. Should the gas supply fail to shut off or if overheating occurs, shut off the gas valve to the unit before shutting off the electrical supply.

Your dealer can help you establish a standard procedure. For your safety, keep the area around the unit clear and free of combustible materials, gasoline and other flammable liquids and vapors.

    Gas Control (IGC). The ComfortLink control active alarm codes and alarm history can be viewed with the Scrolling Marquee or other Carrier Comfort Networkr (CCN) devices. Alarms may also be configured to broadcast automatically on CCN. If the unit will not operate and the Alarm Status LED is on, contact the local dealer and request service.

    Compressors All compressors are factory shipped with a normal charge of the correct type refrigerant grade oil. No field lubrication is necessary except possibly with repair or replacement of refrigerant circuit components.
