EQUIPMENT MANUAL FOR RD-9120 Typical RD-9120 unit consists of the following components: Low Noise Amplifier (LNA): One Low Noise Amplifier (LNA) is installed in each UL/DL branch. The repeater UL/DL ATT value corresponds individually to UL/DL LNA gain. Frequency Selector (FS): The FS is used to select the demand carriers and reject unwanted signals effectively.

EQUIPMENT MANUAL FOR RD-9120 3 INSTALLATION 3.1 WARNINGS AND ALERTS Radio Frequency energies There may be situations, particularly workplace environments near high- powered RF sources, where recommended limits for safe exposure of human beings to RF energy could be exceeded. In such cases, restrictive measures or actions may be necessary to ensure the safe use of RF energy.
The equipment must not be opened for installation or maintenance in bad weather (e.g. gale, storm rainfall, extreme temperatures and high humidity) Installation location Mounting surface shall be suitable to support weight pf the equipment. EQUIPMENT MANUAL FOR RD-9120 3.4.2 WALL MOUNTING DETAILS This manual takes mounting the equipment with relatively small enclosure as an example. Mount the equipment to the wall according to the following steps: Drill four holes on the wall using the mounting rack as a guide. Then fix the mounting rack to the wall using four masonry bolts (M10X110).
3.4.4 DRIP-LOOP Comba recommends that every horizontal cable entry to the equipment forms a 'U' before its entry to the equipment. Any accumulated water on the cable will drip down at the bottom of the loop and will not climb up to the equipment.

EQUIPMENT MANUAL FOR RD-9120 Powering option: -48V connectivity The DC power cable for -48V is color coded, typically as BLUE for “-48V or Battery” and BLACK for “0V or Return” connections. On the PSU is a Combicon connector (plug), please consult the PSU pinout and identify the -48V and 0V pin and wire the DC power cable to the -48V and Return pin.
EQUIPMENT MANUAL FOR RD-9120 4 COMMISSIONING 4.1 MCU LED INDICATORS Four diagnostic LEDs are located on the MCU, each indicates the status of a particular function: Identifier Colour Indication Online programming. This will flash when users read, set or download files via OMT.

EQUIPMENT MANUAL FOR RD-9120 4.5 PREPARATION REMOTE CONNECTION USING WIRELESS MODEM An integratged wireless modem with the equipment provides the option of remote connection of the equipment by OMT. The wireless modem implements the link for data and SMS. The power cable and data wire has already been connected to the wireless modem, customer only need to insert the SIM card into the wireless modem.

EQUIPMENT MANUAL FOR RD-9120 4.7.1.4 ALARM ACKNOWLEDGEMENT As and when the designated Alarm occurs, it will be visible on OMT and/or reported to OMC. If OMC does not acknowledging after a time-out of three minutes, the same alarm will be reported to OMC.

EQUIPMENT MANUAL FOR RD-9120 4.9 REMOTE MONITORING USING OMC OMC offers flexibility to manage a network of equipment, all the tasks carried out by the OMT can performed centrally from the OMC terminal. In order for OMC to communicate to each equipment, an unique equipment identification must be referred to, and it is entered using OMT after local commission has been completed.
EQUIPMENT MANUAL FOR RD-9120 5 OPERATION Following installation and commissioning, occasional operation tasks to handling alarms may be required: Alarm condition Diagnosis Power down / power fault Check AC power cable and verify AC mains supply is normal. During power alarm fault alarm, DC power supply has no output.
Make sure the cable gland and sealing on the RF cable connectors are not damaged. Verify lightning and grounding protection is in good condition. For the Li-ion back-up battery, verify its state. Deeply discharged battery shall be return to Comba for replacement.

Operation and Maintenance Terminal (OMT) is windows-based software designed for the control and maintenance of Comba repeaters. Installed in a PC, it performs the operation on the repeat either by local connection via RS232 cable or remote connection via wireless modem.
