During refitting of the flywheel cover it
is necessary to apply a great amount
of threebond on the cable grommet of
the stator before placing it in its seat
•
Check that plentiful threebond leaks
out and covers all space between the
seat on the cover and the cable grom-
met. Apply another layer of threebond
over the cable grommet.
•
Refit a new gasket.
TONE WHEEL CALIBRATION PROCEDURE
NOTE
PROCEDURE VALID ONLY FOR E5 VEHICLES
CAUTION
To comply with the strict "MISFIRE" monitoring requirements of by the EURO 5 regulations, a
new tone wheel and a new integrated Pick-Up have been included in the stator's wiring harness.
When the "MISFIRE" monitoring does not return optimal results and/or if the tone wheel cali-
bration procedure is not performed, the MIL indicator light will start flashing. (the ECU will show
the P1309 error)
All motorcycles are delivered with the calibration procedure already performed, but in case of
replacing the: ENGINE ECU, MAGNET FLYWHEEL, PICK UP, the calibration procedure descri-
bed below must be repeated.
