REMOTE CONTROL SETTINGS
WAKE WITH TIVO BUTTON
If your TV or AV receiver supports CEC, this setting enables the CEC One Touch Play
command. With this command enabled, pressing certain buttons on the remote control (e.g.,
the TiVo button, channel buttons, and Voice button) or using Smart Home features will wake
the TiVo box from Standby and turn on your TV/AV receiver. To use this option, make sure that
your TV/AV receiver has the CEC option turned on.
PAIR YOUR REMOTE WITH YOUR TIVO BOX
The TiVo remote can issue voice commands, as well as control your TiVo box even if the box is
not in direct line of sight with the remote (for instance, if it is behind a cabinet door). To enable
these functions, the remote must be paired with your TiVo box.
Your remote control should be paired and ready to use after you complete Guided Setup.
However, if you have trouble using the remote, including trouble using the voice feature, or if
you purchase additional remotes, you may need to "pair" the remote to your DVR before
using it.
If you're not sure if your remote is paired, go to the Remote Setup screen (Settings > Remote,
CableCARDs, and Devices > Remote Control Setup). If you see "Paired" next to Pair Your
Remote With Your TiVo Box, you're all set.
If this screen says "Not paired," select Pair Your Remote With Your TiVo Box and follow the
on-screen instructions.
Once a remote is paired with a TiVo box, it will only work with that box.
