  • Page 7 i Preface ■Interlocks A cover switch is installed on the machine major unit covers. When a cover equipped with a cover switch has opened when the machine is running, the interlock operates to automatically stop the machine. Be sure not to open any cover during automatic running. Some of the machine covers are not equipped with a cover switch.

  • Page 9 i Preface Warning Labels Warning labels used for the system During installation, operation and maintenance services, especially pay attention for the safety and security of human. The system must only be operated following the correct operation method and by taking care of the safety. Three (3) kinds of danger warning labels as shown below are used for this system.
  • Page 10 i Preface Inflammable chemicals such as hydrogen are sometimes used depending on the type of machine. Please keep inflammables away from a machine for prevention of a fire and a burn. Some machines use explosive (bursting) chemical substances and/or mechanisms (pressure tank, etc.) such a case, be sure to keep fire away from the machine, otherwise bursting or explosions may break out.
  • Page 11 i Preface Unpacking ■Unpacking and Installation Inspection The system body, display, cables and etc. are packed in polyethylene sheets by using air caps. Remove the polyethylene sheets before assembly. !Caution To move the machine between the places at greatly different temperatures, e.g., between the outdoors and the room in winter, take sufficient time.
  • Page 12 Installation of the System ! Danger After unpacking, the service persons from CANON Machinery D A N G E R usually install the machine. If you install the machine, put a work cap, protective gloves and safety shoes on, and carefully confirm safety.
  • Page 13 i Preface Space for the installation Considering a safe work, the system requires a distance to the walls of 1.0 m at least for the installation. Precautions against an earthquake In case of an earthquake, measure for protection of shift, turnover, and drop of a machine must be taken.
