Using the pen Caution A finger-tap or PDA stylus has no effect on your convertible notebook’s display, and ink pens and other pointed objects could damage the surface. Always use the pen that came with your convertible notebook. You can order extra pens from Gateway.

Inserting a CD or DVD Important When you place a single-sided disc in the tray, make sure that the label side is facing up. If the disc has two playable sides, place the disc so the name of the side you want to play is facing up.

Adding or replacing memory Important Use only memory modules designed for your Gateway convertible notebook. Tools Required You need a small Phillips screwdriver to replace memory. The components inside your convertible notebook are extremely sensitive to static electricity, also known as electrostatic discharge (ESD).

Disconnect the AC adapter, modem cable, and network cable if they are connected to the convertible notebook. Disconnect all peripheral devices connected to the convertible notebook and remove any PC cards.
