PERFORMANCE CHECK (VIDEO AND AUDIO)
NO. CHECK POINT PROCEDUER AND CONDITIONS
1 Receive the E-5CH signal.
1 CONTRAST
2 Select CONTRAST in the Menu.
3 Using the UP/DOWN keys, make sure the contrast
changes accordingly.
1 Receive the J-13CH signal.
2 COLOUR
2 Select COLOUR in the Menu.
3 Using the UP/DOWN keys, make sure the colour
changes accordingly. (At the MIN position, there
must be no colour.)
1 Receive the E-5CH signal.
3 BRIGHTNESS
2 Select BRIGHT in the Menu.
3 Using the UP/DOWN keys, make sure the black level
changes accordingly.
1 Receive the J-13CH signal.
4 TINT
2 Select TINT in the Menu.
3 Using the UP key, make sure the tint changes to-
ward green. With the DOWN key, make sure it
changes toward red.
1 In the Picture and Sound adjustment mode, press
5 NORMAL
the Normal key to make sure the displayed content
alone appears normal.
1 Receive the E-5CH signal.
6 SHARPNESS
2 Select SHARPNESS in the Menu.
3 Using the UP/DOWN keys, make sure the sharp-
ness changes accordingly.
1 Make sure all the channel (0 thru 99) signs appear
7 CHANNEL SIGN
DISPLAY COLOUR green (with the AFT on).
8 TREBLE 1 Receive the E-5CH signal.
2 Select TREBLE in the Menu of sound adjustment.
3 Using the UP/DOWN keys, make sure the treble
changes accordingly.
1 Receive the E-5CH signal. Keep the U-BASS off.
9 BASS
2 Select BASS in the Menu of sound adjustment.
3 Using the UP/DOWN keys, make sure the bass
changes accordingly.
1 Receive the E-5CH signal.
10 BALANCE
2 Select BALANCE in the Menu of sound adjustment.
3 Using the UP/DOWN keys, make sure the left-to-
right balance changes accordingly.

3 Receive the E-37CH NTSC4.43 colour bar signal.
Select a colour system other than N4.43. Make sure
the colour system does not work.
4 Receive the JA-8CH NTSC3.58 colour bar signal.
Select a colour system other than N3.58. Make sure
the colour system does not work.
1 Receive the OI-9CH PAL (D/K) colour bar signal.
12 SOUND SYSTEM
Select the M, B/G and I sound systems to make
sure the sound system does not work.
2 Receive the E-23CH (I) monoscope pattern signal.
Select the M, B/G and D/K sound systems to make
sure the sound system does not work.
3 Receive the E-12CH (B/G) colour bar signal. Se-
lect the M, I and D/K sound systems to make
sure the sound system does not work.
4 Receive the JA-8CH (M) colour bar signal. Select
the B/G, I and D/K sound systems to make sure
the sound system does not work.
1 Receive the E-5CH music broadcast signal.
13 SPATIALIZER
2 Using the Menu screen, make sure the sound
modes change as follows.
3 In the mono mode, listen to the sound from the
speakers and make sure it feel wide.
1 With the PIP, MOVE, SWAP,FREEZE, and TV/

P I P key VIDEO keys, make sure the following functions are
MOVE Key performed as specified: PIP on/off, size switching,
SWAP Key four-corner movement, master/sub-screen inver-
