Note: To enable full functionality of the special keys on your ThinkPad Helix Folio Keyboard, install the Hotkey Features Integration program on your tablet. It is recommended that you use the Lenovo System Update
program preinstalled on your tablet to help you easily download and install the required program. Alternatively, you can download and install the Hotkey Features Integration program from the Web site by doing the
following:
1. Go to http://www.lenovo.com/support and follow the on-screen instructions to choose your product. The Web page for your product is displayed.
2. On the Downloads tab, select Software and Utilities from the Component drop-down list box, and then locate the Hotkey Features Integration program for your tablet operating system. To quickly locate the
program, you also can directly type hotkey into the keyword text box on the right side of the drop-down list boxes and press Enter to search for the program.
3. Download the appropriate Hotkey Features Integration program and install it on your tablet.
4. Restart your tablet.
Initial setup
Important: Before using your tablet, be sure to read and understand the regulatory information and
safety information later in this document.
Note: Connect the tablet to ac power before you attempt to start the tablet for the first time; otherwise, the
tablet will not start. After you complete the initial setup, the tablet will no longer need ac power to start if
the battery is adequately charged.

. Connect to power. Ensure that all power cord connectors are securely and completely plugged into
receptacles.
2.
Press the power button to turn on the tablet. Then follow the on-screen instructions to complete the
initial setup.
Recovery solutions
Windows
®
recovery discs are not provided with your tablet. Instead, the Windows operating system
provides everything needed to recover from most software-based conditions that could prevent your
tablet from functioning correctly. As an added level of security and to help you recover from more extreme
problems, create your own recovery media as soon as possible using the Windows "Create Recovery
Media" function. Keep your recovery media in a safe place in case you need to recover from severe data
corruption or a hard-disk failure. For details, see "Recovery overview" in the electronic User Guide.
Accessing your User Guide
Your User Guide contains detailed information about your tablet. To
access your User Guide, do the following:
Windows 10:
1. Open the Start menu and then click Lenovo Companion. If
Companion is not displayed on the Start menu, click All apps to
display all programs, and then click Lenovo Companion.
2. Click Support → User Guide.
Windows 8.1:
1. Go to the Start screen.
2. Click the arrow icon in the bottom-left corner of the screen to go
to the Apps screen. If you are using a touch screen, swipe up to
go to the Apps screen.
3. Click Help and Support. The Windows Help and Support
window opens.
4. Click Lenovo User Guide.
Lenovo makes constant improvements to the User Guide of your
tablet. To ensure that you have the up-to-date information of your
tablet, see "Downloading publications" for information about
downloading the latest User Guide.
Downloading publications
Electronic versions of your tablet publications are available from the
Lenovo Support Web site. To download the publications for your
tablet, go to:

by Lenovo, or a disassembled or modified battery is not
covered by the warranty.
Battery abuse or mishandling can cause overheat, liquid
leakage, or an explosion. To avoid possible injury, do the
following:
• Do not open, dissemble, or service any battery.
• Do not crush or puncture the battery.
• Do not short-circuit the battery, or expose it to water or
other liquids.
• Keep the battery away from children.
• Keep the battery away from fire.
Stop using the battery if it is damaged, or if you notice any
discharge or the buildup of foreign materials on the battery
leads.
Store the rechargeable batteries or products containing the
rechargeable batteries at room temperature, charged to
approximately 30 to 50% of capacity. We recommend that the
batteries be charged about once per year to prevent
overdischarge.
Do not put the battery in trash that is disposed of in landfills.
When disposing of the battery, comply with local ordinances
or regulations.
Notice for built-in rechargeable battery
DANGER
Do not attempt to replace the built-in rechargeable battery.
Replacement of the battery must be done by a
Lenovo-authorized repair facility or technician.
Only recharge the battery strictly according to instructions
