Add a link aggregation group

You can add a link aggregation group (LAG) between the router and a satellite, between
two satellites, between the router and a switch, or between the satellite and a switch.
The switch must support 802.3ad link aggregation for static LAGs.
To add a LAG:
1. If you want to add a LAG between the router and a switch or between a satellite and
a switch, first do the following on the switch:
Configure static link aggregation on the two Ethernet ports that you plan to use for
the LAG connection to the router or the satellite.
To prevent a network loop, configure the switch ports before connecting them to
the router or satellite LAN ports.
2. Launch a web browser from a computer or mobile device that is connected to your
Orbi network.
3. Enter orbilogin.com.
A login window displays.
If your browser does not display a login window but displays a security warning and
does not let you proceed, see What to do if you get a browser security warning on
page 28.
4. Enter the admin user name and password.
The user name is admin. The password is the one that you set the first time that you
logged in. The user name and password are case-sensitive.
The BASIC Home page displays.
5. Select ADVANCED > Advanced Setup > VLAN / Bridge Settings.
The VLAN / Bridge Settings page displays.
For the router (Base) and each satellite, the ports display on the page:
• Blue: The ports are connected to devices that are turned on.
• Gray: The ports are either not connected or are connected to devices that are
not turned on.
6. In either the Base (router) or Satellite section, click an Ethernet port that you want to
become part of a LAG.
The Bind button displays between the selected Ethernet port and the adjacent
Ethernet port. (If the port does not support link aggregation, the Bind button does
not display.)
7. Click the Bind button.
