PURPOSE OF THIS DOCUMENT

This document describes the DECT cordless communication service installation and
start-up for the following PBXs:

F0 range: MC 6501-C1, MC 6501-C6, MC 6501-C8/C4E, MC 6501-C8L
♦
F1 range: MC 6501, MC 6501L, MC 6501R
♦
F2/F3/F4 range: MC 6502, MC 6503, MC 6504, MC 6504-E, MC 6504L, MC 6540,
MC 6505, MC 6508, MC 6530, MC 6530E, MC 6550, MC 6550LC, MC 6550L
The following software releases are required to operate the DECT service:

7598 (release 11.3) for MC 6501 PBXs
♦
7599 (release 11.4) MC6504 / 40 and MC 6550 PBXs
♦
7599-2 (release 11.4) for 4-channel radio base station management on MC 6501,
MC 6501L, MC6504, MC 6504 L, MC6540, MC6550, MC6550 L, MC 6550LC PBXs
♦
7599-2 (release 11.5) for 4-channel radio base station management on
MC 6501C1, MC 6501C4, MC 6501C6, MC 6501C8.
CT2 and DECT cannot coexist on the same PBX.

AUDIENCE OF THIS DOCUMENT

This document is for installers who:

investigate and determine the locations of the radio base stations and determine
the system traffic flow
♦
set up connections between the radio base stations and the main distribution
frame, with or without use of the radio synchronization signal repeater
♦
start up the DECT system and put it in service
