Unpacking
If your minibar has a lock, locate and remove the key from the back of the minibar. When unpacking the minibar check
that nothing is missing or damaged. Damage in transit must be reported immediately to the carriers and Minibar
Systems.
Before Installation
Before plugging in the minibar check whether the voltage stated on the rating-plate (inside the cooling box) is the
same as the mains voltage and use an earthed wall socket. Make sure the drip tray is level and properly snapped onto
the bottom horizontal tube of the absorption cooling unit (see diagram right).
Mains Cable
As the mains cable is supplied separately, please check (in case if the fridge is not working) whether the mains cable is properly plugged in and check the
fuse. The use of an extension cord is not recommended. If the minibar is out of order or if the mains cable needs to be replaced, the connection has to be
controlled by a qualified person or a technic ian from Minibar Systems.
Ventilation Requirements
The minibar needs to be properly vented so that air can flow through the cooling unit. The minibar must not be installed closer than 120 mm from the
wall. If the minibar is installed into hotel furniture, ventilation grilles or holes should be drilled into the wall or furniture to an area of at least 200 cm² to
allow for sufficient air circulation. Never cover ventilation grills! See the Minibar Case Good Specifications manual available from Minibar Systems' website,
www.minibar.ch.
Installation
For optimum performance the minibar should not be too close to a source of heat and away from direct sunlight.
The minibar must be on a level surface
Check that the minibar is in a level position and fixed down using 2 screws.
Thermostat
Set thermostat to position 3.
Mounting the Door Slide
The door slide (fixed either on the left hand or the right hand side) should be positioned in the
vertical centre of the minibar (see diagram right).
How to Disable the Lock
The minibar is supplied with a lock that can be disabled. A lock cover is supplied on the front of the door covering the lock, and the lock shield is on the
inside of the door covering the lock casing. To disable the lock, simply remove the lock shield from the lock casing, turn the lock shield around, push the
lock catch down and attach the lock shield.
Lock shield cover fits around the lock
casing. Lock catch is still in operation.
Automatic Defrosting of the Evaporator
The minibar features an automatic defrost function. The device is adjusted to perform a defrost cycle every 23 hours of continuous work. During the de-
frost cycle the cooling unit stops working so that defrosting can take place. If the temperature increases over the upper limit or after one hour, the cooling
unit starts working again automatically. The ice layer on the evaporator must never be removed by force nor should defrosting be accelerated by the use
of a radiant heating element!

Never use soap or sharp, grainy, abrasive cleaning agents, in particular those containing soda.
Do not store explosive substances such as aerosol cans with a flammable propellant in this appliance.
