Error 1: Battery health is low
This error indicates that the system's emergency battery voltage or health is low.
Step 1 – Verify the battery (located in the Controller) is connected to the terminal points correctly.
Step 2 – Test the battery voltage. If the voltage is less than 10 VDC, the battery is faulty. In this case, you must
replace the battery in the Controller.
Step 3 – If you continue to experience problems, contact Smoke Guard using the contact information in Section
9.
Error 2: Panic stop
This error will appear when the panic stop button on the control is pressed. If you see this error during normal
operation and the panic stop button has not been pressed, contact Smoke Guard using the contact information in
Section 9.
Error 4: Moving up or down timeout
This error occurs when the curtain moves further than expected.
Step 1 – Verify the unit has been calibrated. If not perform a calibration per section 6.3 of this manual.
Step 2 – If you continue to experience problems, contact Smoke Guard using the contact information in Section
9.

This error indicates that motor drew a higher than expected amount of current during a deploy or retract.
Step 1 – Ensure the drivetrain is not blocked or jammed.
o Check for tangled items on the axles or in the gearbox.
o Check for jammed door closer hardware.
o Check for snags by inspecting the full length of the cables and magnets.
Step 2 – If you have verified that there is no jam or blockage to the system and Error 6 persists, contact Smoke
