Troubleshooting
A pickup cover is installed in your drive. Remove the pickup cover before
inserting a disc.
When I double-click an application icon a message such as "You must insert the
application CD into your CD-ROM drive" appears and the software does not start
Some titles require specific files that are located on the application's
CD-ROM disc. Insert the disc and try starting the program again.
Make sure you place the disc in the tray with the label side facing up.
My floppy disk drive can't write to a diskette
The diskette is write-protected. Disable the write-protect feature or use a diskette
that is not write-protected.
Check that the diskette is properly inserted into the floppy disk drive.

About sound

My speakers are not producing sound
The built-in speakers may be turned off. Press Fn+F3 to turn on the speakers.
The speaker volume may be turned to the minimum. Press Fn+F4, and then press
V or b or use the Jog Dial to increase the volume.
If your computer is powered by battery, check that the battery is inserted properly
and that it is charged.
If you are using an application that has its own volume control, check that the
volume is turned up.
Check the volume controls in Windows
If you use external speakers, check that the speakers are properly connected and
the volume is turned up. If the speakers have a mute button, make sure it is off.
