Troubleshooting
Pressing Ctrl+Alt+Delete may
result in data loss in files that
are currently open.
I cannot put my computer in any Standby mode (Hibernation, Idle or supend): the system
gets unstable
Quit all the applications you launched and restart the system. If you don't succeed,
please refer to the question "My computer does not shut down" on page 61.
My computer "locks up"
Try restarting the computer. On the Windows taskbar, click the Start button, click
Shut Down and then click Restart.
If you cannot restart as described in the preceding step, you can restart the
computer by pressing Ctrl+Alt+Delete twice (or by pressing Ctrl+Alt+Delete
once and then clicking Shut Down in the Task manager of Windows).
If the previous step does not work, press the power button and hold it for at least
four seconds. This turns off the power.
If your computer locks up while playing a CD-ROM, stop the CD-ROM, and
restart the computer by pressing Ctrl+Alt+Delete twice.
My software program "locks up" or crashes
Contact the software publisher or designated provider for technical support. Please
refer to your Software guide for information on how to contact them.
The pointer in the display moves on its own
A "drift" has occurred. However, this is not a malfunction. The pointer will stabilize
if you do not touch the stick for a few seconds.
When I press the stick without pressing the left button, it clicks
Check that the press-select function has not been chosen. See your Software guide, in
"Changing the Pointing Device settings" for details.
