NMEA 2000® STARTER KIT Installation Guide
Overview
Use the NMEA 2000® Starter Kit to build your NMEA 2000 backbone and connect your Humminbird® control head with one or more NMEA
2000 devices. The kit includes the following:
Δ 1 Power-T with power cable
Δ 1 Data-T connector (Dual Starter kit includes 2)
Δ 1 Drop cable (Dual Starter kit includes 2)
Δ 2 Network terminators
We encourage you to consult with a NMEA 2000 trained professional before installation. You can learn more about installing NMEA 2000
networks by visiting the National Marine Electronics Association (NMEA) Web site at www.nmea.org.

| Building the Network
1. Turn off the power for the control head and each accessory.
WARNING! Turn off power for all related equipment before you start the installation.
2. Connect a Data-T connector to the Power-T connector. Hand-tighten the screw nut to secure the connection.
3. Plug the male end of the drop cable to the bottom of the Data-T connector. Plug the female end of the drop cable to the NMEA 2000 device.
Only NMEA 2000 devices/sensors should be connected to the bottom of the Data-T or drop cable. The connectors at the top of the
Data-T are used to connect to the Power-T, other Data-T connectors, backbone extension cables and network terminators.
4. Optional: Plug in additional Data-T connectors and drop cables to your network.
5. Connect a network terminator at each end of your network backbone.
