2. Remove the clips holding the air filter case cover.

element.

4. Remove the foam element from the air filter ele-

ment frame.

5. Wash the foam element in solvent and dry it.
WARNING
Never use solvent while smoking or in the vicinity
of an open flame.
6. Oil the foam element and squeeze out excess oil.
The foam element should be wet but not dripping.
NOTICE
Do not wring out the foam element. This could
cause it to tear.

Recommended oil:
Foam-air-filter oil or engine oil (See page 33)
7. Pull the foam element over the air filter element
frame.
8. Install the air filter element into the air filter case.
NOTICE
The engine should never run without the air filter
element; excessive piston and cylinder wear may
result.
