Review the following recommendations before contacting Quanser's technical support engineers
The External +24V LED is active as soon as the external power is connected to the QNET
Mechatronic Actuators. The ELVIS +5V, User and Status LEDs require that the NI ELVIS II
prototyping board is powered. Make sure both the System Power switch, which is
located on the back of the NI ELVIS II unit, and the Prototyping Board Power switch,
which is situated on the top-right corner of the NI ELVIS II, are ON.
Ensure the QNET Mechatronic Actuators power jack on the QNET Mechatronic Actuators
is connected with the supplied QNET Mechatronic Actuators power cable.
If the LED is still not lighting up, check the 2.5 A fuse of the QNET Mechatronic Actuators
next to the power jack. If it is burnt, replace it with an identical fuse. See the QNET
Mechatronic Acutators User Manual for more details.
If the ELVIS +5V LED is not lit then the internal resettable fuse on the NI ELVIS II may
have tripped. Try turning off the Prototyping Board Power switch and turning it back on.
If the ELVIS +5V LED still does not illuminate, then the QNET Mechatronic Actuators may
have an internal fault and will need to be returned for servicing.
