1 Document Summary
The Installation Guide for the 4U60 G2 Storage Enclosure provides detailed information for installation of the
enclosure into a rack. The Pre-Installation Site Requirements chapter provides preliminary information that
is necessary to consider before receiving the enclosure. The System Unpacking and Installation Chapters
provide the procedures needed to receive and install the Hardware at the site. The physical installation of the
enclosure requires installation of hardware into the rack and power connections.
1.1 Product Overview
The 4U60 G2 Storage Enclosure is a scalable high availability 4U storage enclosure. The 4U60 G2 Storage
Enclosure uses the concept of partial to full population of all drive slots to allow the user to scale on demand.
The minimum configuration of the enclosure is 24 drives in the enclosure at any given time. The maximum
configuration of the enclosure is 60 drives with a maximum of 12 SSDs per enclosure. The enclosure can be
populated with 6TB, 8TB, 10TB, and 12TB HDDs, and 400GB and 800GB SSDs. The maximum raw capacity
of the 4U60 G2 Storage Enclosure is 720TB with the use of 12TB HDDs. The enclosure contains dual Enclosure
Storage Modules (ESM) with the SAS drive configuration. Each ESM contains four ports each, that are used
to maximize the throughput between the drives and the customer servers. The enclosure can also be daisy
chained with an additional three enclosures to allow access to 2.8PB of redundant storage through two user
servers.
