Fold the wiper arm away from the wind-
X
screen until it engages.
Set the wiper blade at right angles to the
X
wiper arm.
Removing the wiper blades
Remove the wiper blade from the retainer
X
on the wiper arm in the direction of the
arrow.
Fitting the wiper blades
Slide the new wiper blade into the retainer
X
on the wiper arm in the opposite direction
to the arrow.
Turn the wiper blade parallel to the wiper
X
arm.
Fold the wiper arm back onto the wind-
X
screen.
Problems with the windscreen wipers
The windscreen wipers are obstructed
Leaves or snow, for example, may be
obstructing the windscreen wiper movement.
The wiper motor has been deactivated.
Switch off the engine using the Start/Stop
X
button and open the driver's door.
Remove the cause of the obstruction.
X
Switch the windscreen wipers back on.
X
The windscreen wipers are inoperative
The windscreen wiper drive is malfunctioning.
Windscreen wipers
Select another wiper speed on the combi-
X
nation switch.
Have the windscreen wipers checked at a
X
qualified specialist workshop.
The spray nozzles are misaligned
The windscreen washer fluid from the spray
nozzles no longer hits the centre of the wind-
screen. The spray nozzles are misaligned.
Have the spray nozzles adjusted at a quali-
X
fied specialist workshop.
The wiper arms are on the windscreen
The wiper arms have been moved by an exter-
nal force.
Select key position 2 (ignition) with the
X
Start/Stop button.
The wiper arms move back down automat-
ically.
