One-Shot AF for Still Subjects

If focus has not been achieved, the focus confirmation light
viewfinder will blink. In this case, you cannot take a picture even when you
press the shutter button fully. Recompose the shot and try and focus again.

AI Servo AF for Moving Subjects

Pressing the shutter button
halfway activates AF operation
and achieves focus once.
The AF point which achieves focus
s
will flash briefly and the focus
confirmation light in the viewfinder will
light at the same time.
With evaluative metering, the
s
exposure setting (shutter speed and
aperture value) will be set when focus
is achieved. The exposure setting and
focus will be locked as long as the
shutter button is pressed halfway.

shot while retaining the exposure
setting and point of focus.
While you press the shutter
button halfway, the camera
focuses continuously
This AF mode suits moving subjects
when the focusing distance keeps
changing.
With predictive AF ∗ , the camera can

also focus track a subject which
steadily approaches or retreats from
the camera.
The exposure settings are set

immediately before the picture is
taken.
