    Chapter 1 Introducing the Contivity 600 The Nortel Networks Contivity 600 provides scalable, secure, manageable extranet access for up to 30 simultaneous users across the Public Data Network (PDN). The Contivity’s features include the most popular tunneling protocols: IP Security (IPsec), Point-to-Point Tunneling Protocol (PPTP), Layer 2 Forwarding Tunneling Protocol (L2TP), and Layer 2 Forwarding (L2F).

The T1 CSU/DSU WAN crossover cable crosses the blue wire pair with the orange wire pair. This is different from the commonly available crossover cable used for 10BaseT, which crosses the green wire pair with the orange wire pair.

    Contivity 600 unit. Some web pages refer to the diskette or recovery diskette. In the case of the Contivity 600, this is a virtual diskette. There is no diskette to remove; the image is built into the flash operating system.

  • Page 54 54 Chapter 4 Using Recovery Mode Restore the configuration: To restore the factory default configuration or the backup configuration, do one of the following: Restore the factory configuration by selecting Restore Factory Configuration, then clicking Restore to return the Switch to its original factory default configuration.
