Solution
Use only unused AA-
size alkaline batteries
or Canon AA-size NiMH
batteries. (For the
information about
alkaline batteries, see
"Proper Battery
Handling" (p. 19).)
Battery performance
deteriorates at low
temperatures. If
shooting in a cold area,
keep the batteries
warm (by placing them
in an inner pocket, etc.)
until ready to use them.
Wipe them well with a
dry cloth before use.
If batteries are
rechargeable:
Performance should
return to normal after
several charging
cycles.
Discard all 4 batteries
and replace with new
ones.
