The DES3 Series comes standard requiring a 120VAC thermostat connection. An optional 24VAC internal
relay (24VAOX) may be factory installed if the heater is to be controlled via a 24VAC thermostat. A 40VA
transformer is necessary when using the 24VAOX option.
NOTE: A relay transformer may be used in lieu of the factory installed 24VAOX option.
NOTE: Different thermostats operate according to their particular features. Refer to thermostat
specifications for details. Refer to figure 3.33 for field wiring diagrams.
DES3 Series heaters with 24VAOX option require a 24VAC, single-stage thermostat to operate. The
burner control box is eqipped with a round terminal strip that accepts two (2) 1/4" female spade terminals.
Do not supply 120 VAC to the 24VAC connection.
