WARNING: AVOID INJURY. Read and

ATTACHMENT BELT REPLACEMENT
To replace attachment belt (Figure 6):
1. Remove hardware securing discharge chute
strap to engine and lift discharge chute off
housing.
2. Remove belt guard.
3. Remove belt from engine pulley (it may be
necessary to turn engine pulley by pulling on
recoil starter handle).
4. Loosen bottom and remove top cap screws that
secure auger/impeller housing to frame (Figure 5).

5. Push down on handlebar. Unit will separate; rest
handlebar on floor.
6. Remove belt from attachment pulley (hold brake
away from belt).
7. Place new attachment belt on attachment pulley
and while holding brake out of the way, tip unit
together.
IMPORTANT: Belt fingers must be between 1/16" to
1/8" (2-3mm) from belt with attachment clutch
engaged.
8. Place new belt onto engine pulley.
9. Adjust brake to be 1/16" to 1/8" (2-3mm) from belt
when clutch is engaged. Refer to Attachment
Clutch/Brake Adjustment in this section.
10. Replace and tighten cap screws to secure
housing to frame.
11. Replace belt guard and discharge chute.
NOTE: Make sure pulleys align. If alignment is neces-
sary, loosen attachment pulley set screws, reposition
pulley and tighten set screws.

ATTACHMENT CLUTCH/BRAKE
ADJUSTMENT
IMPORTANT: There must ALWAYS be some slight,
noticeable slack in the auger control cable when the
auger is disengaged.
1. With spark plug wire disconnected, remove belt
cover.
2. Ensure engine pulley is in line with the
attachment pulley, and attachment pulley is
centered on brake pad.
3. Loosen lock nut on the threaded section of the
clutch cable (Figure 7).
4. Turn the cable tube to provide slight, noticeable
slack in cable.
5. Carefully hold cable tube with pliers and gently
tighten the lock nut with a wrench.
6. Check to see that clutch spring extends 1/16" to
1/8" (1.6mm - 3.1mm) when the clutch bail is
engaged.
