Problem
"REGEN" LED
comes on when
riding without the
battery turned on.

Possible Cause
Normal operation
Remedy
During braking, the motor operates as a
generator supplying electrical power to recharge
the battery. When riding the bicycle without the
battery turned on, the motor generates enough
voltage to power up the electronics within the
motor, which then causes the regenerative
braking indicator to light. This is the battery's
default state and is not charging.
To activate regenerative braking and charge the
battery, the battery must be turned on and you
must either reach speeds above 20 mph or
actively press the left brake lever.
NOTE: When actively pressing the left
brake lever, the motor will provide
pedaling resistance.
