1. Park the machine on a level surface and disengage the PTO. Stop the
engine, wait for all moving parts to stop and remove the key. Engage the
parking brake.
2. Disconnect the battery by removing the negative cable first, then the positive
cable from the battery.
3. Unhook the rubber strap securing the battery to the battery tray. Lift the
battery away from the machine.
4. Close the fuel supply valve.
5. Remove the 2 (5/16 inch) torx screws securing the top rear guard to the rear
guard asm. Remove the top rear guard.

6. Remove the 6 (5/16 inch) torx screws and lock nuts securing the rear guard
to the chassis. Remove the rear guard asm.

7. Disconnect the throttle cable.
