Playing Back the Disc in an External DVD Device
External DVD device refers to DVD players, DVD recorders, computer's DVD drives and
other digital devices.
Problem
There is a brief stop between
scenes.
Disc is running, but image will
not appear on the TV screen.
The disc cannot be
recognized by the device.
Or, even though the disc is
read, cannot play back the
disc or the picture is distorted.
Cannot edit my recordings or
add recordings to the disc
with the DVD device.
When writing on a disc in this
camcorder recordings
transferred from a computer
an error message appears.
Memory Card Operation
Problem
Memory card cannot be
inserted.
Memory card cannot be
recorded.
Memory card cannot be
played back.
Image cannot be erased.

Printing
Problem
The printer is not operating
even though the camcorder
and printer are correctly
connected.
Depending on the DVD player, there might be a very short
stop between scenes during playback.
TV/VIDEO selector on the TV is not set to VIDEO. Set the
selector to VIDEO.
You attempted to play back or dub an incompatible disc. Stop
playback/dubbing.
The disc is dirty. Clean the disc with a soft lens-cleaning cloth.
The disc has not been finalized.
If you recorded a DVD-RW disc in VR mode, only VR mode
compatible DVD players will be able to play the disc. To check
the compatibility refer to the instruction manual of your DVD
device.
It may not be possible with an external DVD recorder to edit or
add recordings to a DVD disc recorded with this camcorder.
The camcorder has exceeded its operational temperature.
Disconnect the compact power adapter and remove the
battery pack and let the camcorder cool down before resuming
use.
Memory card was not facing the correct direction. Turn the
memory card over and reinsert it.
Memory card is full. Erase still images to free some space or
replace the memory card.
Memory card was not initialized. Initialize the memory card.
The folder and file numbers have reached their maximum
value. Set [FILE NOS.] to [RESET] and insert a new memory
card.
