UP/CROSS CONVERTER [Up/Cross]:
Settings relating to the up-conversion/
cross-conversion function
LINE SELECT [> Line Sel]: Select the line
setting.
THRU MODE DELAY [> Thru delay]: For
HDV playback with no cross-
conversion, select whether to delay
HS-SDI output by one frame.
26 Overview
Note
The following restrictions apply to the conversion function of this
board.
• For up-converted or cross-converted signal output, only HD-SDI
output is available. For component HD output and i.LINK HDV
output, the signals are output in the same format as that recorded on
the tape in accordance with the HVR-1500/1500A specification.
• It is not possible to up-convert or cross-convert the i.LINK input for
output as an HD-SDI signal. When i.LINK input is selected, if the
HVR-1500/1500A is in E-E mode the HD-SDI output is suppressed.
• Up-converted or cross-converted output is delayed by one frame with
respect to the other outputs.
With no cross-conversion (in through mode in the above table),
output is not delayed but can be synchronized with other outputs by
changing the setting of the THRU MODE DELAY menu item.
• The phase of the status sense timecode from the REMOTE connector
can be aligned with the phase of either SD or HD by the setting of the
9P TC PHASE menu item. It is also output synchronized with the
audio and timecode embedded in the HD-SDI output.
When this board is installed in the HVR-1500/1500A, the following
additional items appear in the setup menus.
For details of how to use the menus, refer to the Operating Instructions for the
HVR-1500/1500A.
• Settings preceded by an asterisk (such as *EE) are factory default
settings.
• In the HVR-1500/1500A time counter display, one, two or three right
angle brackets ">" appear to show the current menu level. The
number of brackets increased deeper in the menu tree.

ON [>> ON]: Delay output by one frame.
