Changing the menu settings
Note on FLASH MODE and FLASH LVL
You cannot adjust FLASH MODE and FLASH LVL if the external flash (optional) is not
compatible.
Note on FLASH MODE
If the flash is not capable of preventing the red-eye phenomenon, you can select only
ON or AUTO.
Note on the electronic shutter
The electronic shutter function electronically adjusts the shutter speed.

Notes on SteadyShot
• SteadyShot will not correct excessive camera-shake.
• Attachment of a conversion lens (optional) may influence SteadyShot.
If you cancel SteadyShot
The
(SteadyShot off) indicator appears. Your camcorder prevents excessive
compensation for camera-shake.
Meaning
To deactivate the digital zoom. Up to 10× zoom is
carried out.
20×
To activate the digital zoom. More than 10× to 20×
zoom is performed digitally (p. 32).
120×
To activate the digital zoom. More than 10× to
120× zoom is performed digitally.
To not record a 16:9 wide picture
ON
To record a 16:9 wide picture (p. 53)
To compensate for camera-shake
OFF
To cancel SteadyShot. Natural pictures are
produced when shooting a stationary subject with
a tripod.
