To prepare to start with a cold
engine
1. Set the choke control to the choke position.
2. Push the air purge bulb approximately 6 times or
until the bulb starts to fill with fuel. It is not necessary
to fill the air purge bulb completely.
3. Continue to To start the product on page 9 for
more instructions.
Note: To start the product with a warm engine, refer to
To start the product on page 9
To start the product
1. Hold the body of the product on the ground with your
left hand. Do not step on the product.
2. Pull the starter rope handle slowly with your right
hand until you feel some resistance, then pull the
starter rope handle quickly and with force.
WARNING: Do not wind the starter rope
around your hand.
CAUTION: Do not pull the starter rope to
full extension and do not let go of the
starter rope handle.

3. Continue to pull the starter rope handle until the
engine starts.
4. When the engine starts, push the choke control back
to its original position. Push the throttle trigger
gradually to increase the engine speed.
5. Make sure that the engine runs smoothly.
To stop the product
• Move the stop switch to the stop position to stop the
engine.
To operate the product
1. Start near the ground and move the product up
along the hedge when you cut the sides. Make sure
that the body of the product does not touch the
hedge.
2. Adjust the speed to align with the work load.
3. Hold the product near your body for a stable work
position.
4. Be careful and operate the product slowly.
