8. Perform reboot to the host.
9. After the host is up, log in to the management IP address using SSH, and ping
all data IP addresses of another node to make sure that you have the correct
connectivity on each node.
Results
The network configuration on the SLES node is complete. Next perform disk
configuration procedures.
On Linux RHEL v7.2 and v7.3 nodes with the X710 NIC, disable TSO (TCP
Segmentation Offload) to prevent a known issue that can cause a reset under load.
Before you begin
Ensure that you know:
The IP address of the BMC (iDRAC) port
l
The username and password for the BMC (iDRAC) portal (default username and
l
password are root and password)
The default NIC in VxFlex Ready Node servers is Intel X520. The first part of this
procedure determines if the node has the X710 NIC. If it does not, you can skip the
rest of the procedure.
Procedure
1. Log in to the iDRAC management console:
a. From a browser, go to http:// <BMC/iDRAC_IP_address>
b. Type the user name and password, then click Login.
2. Determine if the NIC is X710:
a. Select Hardware
If the NIC Slot or Integrated NIC is X710, continue. Otherwise, skip to the
end of this procedure.
3. Use an ethtool command to disable TSO:
ethtool -K em2 tso off gso off
where
em2 is the NIC name
To make this setting persistent, add the command to a script that will run after
reboot.
