DANGER: POTENTIAL HAZARD
Fuel is extremely flammable and highly
explosive. Keep sparks, flames, and
cigarettes away.
• Drain fuel from the fuel tank outdoors in
an open area. Wipe up any fuel spills.
• Do not drain fuel near an open flame or
sparks.
• Never smoke when handling fuel.
• Store fuel in an approved container and
keep it out of reach of children. Never
keep more than a 30-day supply of fuel.
Short Term Storage
1. Lower the lift arms and stop the engine. Remove
the key.
2. Clean the external parts of the entire unit. Clean
dirt and debris from the engine's cylinder head fins
and blower housing.
IMPORTANT: Do not clean with high pressure wash.
Damage to the electrical systems may result.
Long Term Storage (90 days or more)
1. The unit should be parked on a level surface with
the lift arms lowered, the engine off, and the key
removed.
2. On gasoline models ONLY, add
stabilizer/conditioner additive to fuel in tank (1 oz.
per gallon). Run engine to distribute conditioned
fuel through the fuel system.
Stop engine, allow to cool.
3. Drain the fuel tanks.
• Remove plug from the bottom of the fuel tank.
Allow fuel to drain into an approved container.
Repeat for other tank.
• Replace plug on the bottom of each tank.
• Restart the engine and run until it stops. Repeat
on "Choke" until engine will not restart.
NOTE: Now is the best time to install a new fuel filter
because the fuel tank is empty.
• Dispose of fuel properly.
• Refer to Maintenance and Engine Manual for
detailed instructions of items below.

STORAGE

Fuel Tank Drain Plugs
4. Service the air cleaner.
5. Grease the unit.
6. Change the crankcase oil.
7. Remove the spark plugs and inspect the condition
of the plugs. Place two tablespoons of engine oil
into each spark plug hole. Use the starter to crank
the engine. This will distribute the oil inside the
cylinder. Install the spark plugs. Do not connect the
wire to the spark plugs.
8. Check the tire pressure.
9. Charge the battery.
10.Check and tighten all bolts, nuts, and screws.
11.Repair or replace any part that is damaged or
defective.
12.Paint all scratched surfaces.
13.Store the unit in a clean, dry storage area. Remove
the key from the ignition switch. Cover the unit to
protect it.
